Research and Analyis: Interview A Professional Dissemination Seminar

Ashlegh Lamb interviewed an art therapist called Laura Hartwell as she wanted to see what the profession was like and if after further investigation, she would still be interested. As it turns out, she did not really understand the weight of responsibility this job required. She discovered that this was meant to enable people to do art, and rather not to do art yourself, particularly when dealing with youths and the mentally ill. She found that there were extensive qualifications, requiring an MA in art psychology.
Michael Palmer interviewed an artists called Andrew Curtis, who had a very interesting work process of creating realistic and figural works on his travels and then transforming them into abstractions that vary in scale.
Rups Creegan Interviewed an artist called Danny Roth who works with colour and is very interested in the works relationship to the audience, using painting, among other medias to fully explore this. There were also interesting elements of reflection and refinement that Rups felt she connected with and aspires towards, which was critical to her thinking and process.
I had to present my work in a dissemination seminar about interviewing someone who could help me gain knowledge and aid me in the critical analysis and reflection of my work. As a whole, I am very happy with my presentation, providing visual aids (see "Interview" page for images) to show why I chose Susan Merrick, giving a confident and well paced talk about the questions I asked and how I have applied them to my own practice. I would have liked to have larger posters and more images, however, my work was clear and concise, encouraging me to further consider doing an MA course...
